cheap thrills and weepy movies

my favourite authors of all time. got to be roald dahl. he is the best. of the best.
i remember my mom used to bring me and my sis to go borders almost every other saturday and i could always bring home a book or two. usually on roald dahl or those kiddish girly books that teach us how to paint our nails.

i went pass a book fair a few days ago in jurong, quickly stealing a glance at the massive amount of books placed neatly in the open shelfs/ display area. it looked like those cheap thrillers with some ghost stories sprinkled around the place. so naturally i didnt even bother looking through the titles and walked off. i know i sound super judgemental, but then it really seemed like places only those aunties and uncles go to get their lobang lor. very unsophisicated to have me there i think.
i'm so act high class buay high class can.

then today my mom brought me and bro to watch cj7. which turned out pretty sweet though the story was quite blah. yup, so my mom reached the place like super early cos she scared not enough seats. an example of the kiasuim my mom does. so basically i was supposed to be left rotting and stoning while my bro left for the arcade.

so, romping the place in my oversized shirt and fbt, i think it was really dead boring so i went over the book fair with my mom. and my bro did come but he ditched later for the arcade. (walao. psle coming and he still pretend like he dont care.) soooooo... i became a superb auntie for approximately 45 minutes digging for some books. at first i was only interested in the archies comic section with the doraemon, crayon shin stuff. but then i became really attracted to the enid blyton's books. these books are really childhood memories ok!! and then i saw a couple of little miss and mr man books, a couple of my childhood kiddy books and some stuff here and there which was extremely familiar to me during a whining baby period. well. then i walked pass a section, and it was filled with roald dahl books. i could have screamed when i digged out 'uncle oswald' from the pile of books. this book hor, i tell you, took me such a long time to find can. i mean, kino didnt have it, neither did borders, and i couldnt find it in our national libraries as well. so when i found the book i went OMG!! (ok fine, i really did scream) and shrieked wildly as i went about finding my mom to tell her about my magnificent find. i was very proud to have found the book ok!! :DD

yea, so along with my other finds (including charlotte's web, a series of unfortunate events) i bought the books. :D

yay!!!

then the movie was actually nice la. it was somehow what i expected of. so i'm left quite satisfied. (: and well.. i cried like a baby for the last few minutes of the show. and when i cry at a movie, i will say that its nice.
so alot of sucky movies are actually nice in my opinion. so, dont come asking how any movies are because i will prolly say it's nice. *guilts* i think i have cheated a couple of my friends thinking some movies were really worth the 9.5obucks. :p

my bro said he got like top 10% for his exams last year for the end year and he was promoted and he went into a better class. i was seriously utterly shocked, because (pardon the bluntness) my bro is nothing like a top scholar. i was like " are u serious??? really???" then my mom was like " ya! he even got 100 dollars". i was actually quite impressed. then i thought for a while and think like its not really possible. his maths is really bad, his science is so so, and his chinese cannot make it (unlike me! *ahem ahem*) and his english is just average. so i asked again.
"are u sure?? ur school is it? or just your class?"
"err. my class"
"pfft... CHEY!! BIG DEAL! class only what!!"
"what?? got improve ma..."
"like i care lor. whatever la sucker."
this is when my mom cuts in and says "nvm, you jie jie nv care, mommy care ok. you very smart hor..." and she went all mushy and whatnot. >.>

am i supposed to go awwww...????
sheesh.

but i seriously hope this dumbass brother of mine can go into sji and become really good people like royston, kc and yiuleung lor. he better be!!
